The Prosperity Gospel Is Gods Idea

RedditStumbleUponLinkedInTumblrDiggGoogle BookmarksDeliciousBlogger PostShare

Have you ever made these statements or thought this about Prosperity and God?

The prosperity gospel is a false gospel.

God don’t want us rich.

If I need something I work for it, I don’t need no hand outs.

Those pastors have no right to get rich off our money.

Those pastors just want our money.

Pastors shouldn’t have airplanes or more than one house.

Does God really want us poor?

God created all things for our pleasure! (Picture copyright 2012 by Ruby)

The Gospel of the Kingdom to the Poor

The kingdom of God is… Righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, according to Rom 14:17.

The Gospel of the Kingdom is good news to the poor: they don’t have to be poor anymore. Jesus was anointed with THE HOLY SPIRIT to preach that good news to the poor.

Jesus paid the price with His blood so we wouldn’t have to be poor. That is why it is JUSTICE not to be poor.

Behold My Servant, whom I have chosen; My Beloved, in whom My soul is well pleased: I will put My spirit upon Him, and He will declare JUSTICE to the Gentiles. * (Matt 12:18)

Below is a small list of some of the ways God provides prosperity in the Kingdom

1. Justice is to NOT be poor any more.

The Spirit of the LORD [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to [the] poor…, [To] set at liberty those who are oppressed. * (Luke 4:18)

This word POOR in the original means poor, humble, meek, needy, weak and afflicted.

Poverty is OPPRESSION and oppression is from the devil.

For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, Now I will arise,” says the LORD; “I will set [him] in the safety for which he yearns.” * (Ps 12:5)

For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil. Poverty is a work of the devil and Jesus came to destroy it! * (1 John 3:8)

Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that [the] blind see, [the] lame walk, [the] lepers are cleansed, [the] deaf hear, [the] dead are raised, [the] poor have the gospel preached to them. * (Luke 7:22)

In the next couple scriptures, you can see that it is justice we are to deliver the poor.

Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy* (Ps 82:3)

Deliver the poor and needy; Free [them] from the hand of the wicked. * (Ps 83:4)

I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, [And] justice for the poor. * (Ps 140:12)

He will judge Your people with righteousness, And Your poor with justice. (*Ps 72:2)

He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save the children of the needy, And will break in pieces the oppressor* (Ps 72:4)

For He will deliver the needy when he cries, The poor also, and [him] who has no helper.* (Ps 72:12)

God tells us if we see someone in need and have this world’s goods and don’t help them, we aren’t walking in love. So then, we are to expect the same thing from God. If God who has this world’s goods that we need wouldn’t give them to us because He wants us to be poor, we would say that He is unjust. That is a double standard. Why would God say it is love when we do it, but when He withholds from us it is okay? God gives and gives to us abundantly. See John 10:10.

But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. * (1 John 3:17)

2. God’s will on earth

Your KINGDOM come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven (Matt 6:10)

In heaven there is no lack or poverty. Why would our Father want us to be poor? Poverty is a result of a fallen world under Satan’s hand! According to John 5:19, the kingdoms of the world and their glory are ruled by the devil unless the born again believer takes them back by force.

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth (3 John 2)

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have [it] more abundantly (John 10:10)

3. Kings live like kings

This is what a king eats and wears.

… tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon, The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,

The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings, The rings, and nose jewels, The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins, The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.… sweet smell … a girdle a rent; … well set hair baldness; … beauty. (Is 3:18-26)

Here is another scripture about how God wants us to live and how He wants to bless us.

yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine. Then washed I thee with water; …, and I anointed thee with oil.

1. I clothed thee also with broidered work,

2. and shod thee with badgers’ skin,

3.  and I girded thee about with fine linen,

4. and I covered thee with silk.

5.  I decked thee also with ornaments,

6. and I put bracelets upon thy hands,

7. and a chain on thy neck.

8.  And I put a jewel on thy forehead,

9.  and earrings in thine ears,

10. and a beautiful crown upon thine head.

11.  Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver;

12.  and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work;

13.  thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil:

14.  and thou wast exceeding beautiful,

15. and thou didst prosper into a kingdom. (Ezek 16:8-13)

He raises the poor from the dust [And] lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set [them] among princes And make them inherit the throne of glory. * (1 Sam 2:8)

King Solomon:

There was no lack in their supply. * (1 Kings 4:27)

Now King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she desired, whatever she asked, besides what Solomon had given her according to the royal generosity. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants. * (1 Kings 13:10)

So King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom. * (1 Kings 10:23)

So the LORD exalted Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed on him [such] royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel. * (1 Kings 29:25)

And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king: Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like. (1 Chron 1:11-12)

4. Wealth of the wicked transfers

A good [man] leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, But the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous. * (Prov 13:22)

The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you. * (Is 60:5)

Therefore your gates shall be open continually; They shall not be shut day or night, That [men] may bring to you the wealth of the Gentiles. * (Is 60:11)

For [God] gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who [is] good in His sight; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and collecting, that he may give to [him who is] good before God. * (Ecc 2:26)

Acts 3:19-21, restoration of ALL THINGS

5. Super naturalness of God

…then you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth And you shall remember the LORD your God, for [it is] He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant. * (Deut 8:17)

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (you sow and He causes you to reap abundance 30, 60 or 100-fold). * (Phil 4:19)

Prosperity is victory and no lack in EVERY part of our lives

6. Poverty is a curse. Jesus redeemed us from the curse

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, Cursed [is] everyone who hangs on a tree that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. * (Gal 3:13-14)

The lack of all things is under the curse, as you can see in the scripture below.

in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee. (Deut 28:47)

Poverty is a tool of the enemy to DESTROY you.

This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard [him], And saved him out of all his troubles. * (Ps 34:6)

He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted with honor. * (Ps 112:9)

He raises the poor out of the dust, [And] lifts the needy out of the ash heap. * (Ps 113:7)

I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her poor with bread. * (Ps 132:15)

Read the next scriptures and see what happens to the poor.

The destruction of the poor [is] their poverty. * (Prov 15:10)

The poor [man] is hated even by his own neighbor, But the rich [has] many friends. * (Prov 14:20)

Wealth makes many friends, But the poor is separated from his friend.* (Prov 19:4)

All the brothers of the poor hate him; How much more do his friends go far from him! He may pursue [them with] words, [yet] they abandon [him.] * (Prov 19:7)

The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower [is] servant to the lender.* (Prov 23:7)

[Like] a roaring lion and a charging bear [Is] a wicked ruler over poor people. * (Prov 28:15)

…the poor man’s wisdom [is] despised, And his words are not heard. * (Ecc 9:16)

Acts 10:4

Our covenant

Gal 3:13,29

Eph 1:10-11

Let’s take a look at one more scripture. (Matt 14:25) For the kingdom of heaven is as a man traveling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods… And unto one he gave five talents (COINS, MONEY), to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

1. And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have GAINED beside them five talents more.

1., Well done, thou good and faithful servant:

2. faithful over a few things,

3. I will make thee ruler over many things:

4. enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

1. I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent

1. Thou wicked and slothful servant,

2. Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury (INTEREST).

3. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

4. cast ye the UNPROFITABLE servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I find it fascinating that the “Prosperity Gospel” is one of the biggest things people get angry over. The mentality over this is simply SILLY! Why would anyone think that God is poor or that He wants His kids poor? If they just looked at themselves working so hard to give their kids a BETTER life, our Daddy is better and richer and much more generous. They love their kids and want to get them all they desire and more IF they can afford it. Well, God is the same way; He wants His kids to have all their hearts’ desires as long as they love Him and NOT money. God is love and love always gives to the object of their love!

It takes money to share the gospel. It takes money to feed the poor. It takes money to be a godly representative of what and who God is. We are the answer to the world’s problems; we are to help in all the events and disasters that are about to happen to this planet as it folds up under the weight of sin. We need abundance so we can give abundantly!
