How Safe is Your Home? The Application of Peace by Terry Baker

Have you ever wonder why your home or home life has been so much under attack time and time again. You prayed, you confessed every Scripture you could think of, you even applied the Blood of Jesus and yet the attacks keep coming. First, please know that there is nothing stronger then the Blood of Jesus but the Bible also says in Hoesa 4:6, that “My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge”. The Bible also says in Proverbs 4:7 that “Wisdom is the principle thing”. The simplest way to look at this is to understand that knowledge will teach you about it and wisdom will teach you how to use it or apply it. So with this let’s establish a Scriptural foundation for establishing a safe dwelling place for our homes, our families, our ministries, our businesses, and our churches.
The Plan

Promises of Peace:

First we should understand that many times we do not rightly discern turmoil and trials from the testing of our faith and literally accept suffering and turmoil (demonic assignments) thinking we are doing it for the sake of the Gospel and while this is another subject for another time, it is important for us to understand that it is God’s perfect will for us to live in peace. John 14:27 says, “My peace I leave with you; My peace I give unto you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” and Philippians 4:7 says, “and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”.

Now the Greek word for peace in this reference is: “eirene” which translated means, peace between individuals, harmony, safety, security, prosperity, felicity (intense happiness), now this next part is critical: it also means to be exemption from rage and havoc of war. The next word to consider is: “passes” which in the Greek is: “hyperecho” which means: to be above, be superior in rank, authority, power. Next is the word understanding in this passage in the Greek it is translated, “nous” which means: the mind, our understanding, reason in the narrower sense. Finally taking a look at the word “keep” which in the Greek is translated, “phroureo” which means, to guard, to protect by a military guard, either to prevent hostile invasion, or to keep the inhabitants of a besieged city from flight” It also means to keep with a garrison…Ps. 91:11 says, “For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways”.

Now putting this together in light of the understanding what is actually being said is this, that the unlimited harmony and prosperity of God’s intense happiness causes us to be above with authority and power in superior rank over all our limited understanding and ability to reason a matter and guards us with an angelic military garrison to prevent hostile invasion so that even if besieged upon we will never have to take flight from our safe dwellings.

Isaiah 32:18 says, “My people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, in safe dwellings, and in quiet resting-places”. Essentially what God is saying here is our dwellings will be made up of soundness, completeness, quiet tranquility and contentment full of good human relationships and God’s covenant relationship with us establishing a refuge full of confidence, trust, and ease.
Promises of Covering and Establishment:

Next Psalms 90:17 says,  “And let the beauty and delightfulness and favor of the Lord our God be upon us; confirm and establish the work of our hands—yes, the work of our hands, confirm and establish it”. It is literally the will of God that we be covered with His beauty, delightfulness, and favor that the work of our hands be confirmed and established.

Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This is God’s plan for our every day lives, our finances, our work/business, our ministry, our church. God is saying that welfare and not calamity shall be our portion and that in this you and I will have a future full of hope.
Promises of Protection:

Psalms 91:1-16 says,

1. He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say[a] to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refuge[b]—
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”

Let’s look at some of the elements of the above promises and they are: Canopy of Protection (vs. 1-3), Sight and Sound Barriers (vs.4), Shield of Protection (vs.4), Angelic Protection (vs.11-12), and Spirit of Promise (vs. 9-10). Really the whole passage covers these elements but I wanted to highlight them in these verses.

The Application
It is important to note that establish the basis for a safe home base is not enough but we must enforce His promises by speaking the written Word. Now it is important to note that when you or I as a blood bought son and daughter of the Most High God speak the written word of God by first saying, “it is written” that in the spirit realm in that moment our voice change to sound exactly like Jesus. This is important to know for many reasons. Many people have made the mistake of thinking we have the right to command angels this is wrong as it says in the Bible according to Joshua 5:15 that Jesus is the Captain of the Lord’s host. So what literally happens is when we say the words, “it is written” and then quote our scripture of promise that the heavenly host immediately look to the father not hearing our voice but the voice of Jesus asking what they should do and the Father replies, “honor my Word”
Canopy of Protection – ask the Lord to place a canopy of protection around about your legal property lines that extends from the core of the earth to the throne room in heaven (this will also help to establish an open heaven over your dwelling)

Sight and Sound Barriers – ask the lord to place full activated and fully operational sight and sound barriers both inside and outside your canopy of protection which fully stops demonic and unholy watchers from gaining any form of knowledge of what happens in your home.

Shield of Protection – Ask the Lord to place a shield of protection face down at the bottom of your canopy of protection and again one face down underneath all the soil of your property and that these shield be fully touching your canopy of protection with no gaps

Angelic Protection – Speak out Isaiah 32:18 “my people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, in a secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places” upon doing this it releases angelic warrior servant angels to our dwelling place to secure our camp. It is important to ask the Lord that they be placed both inside and outside your canopy of protection with their shields face out locked arm in arm. I also ask God to place them at every door, every window, and in every bedroom

Spirit of Promise – At this point ask the Lord to fill up your canopy of protection with the Spirit of promise that everyone of the promises of God’s covenant with you through the Blood of Jesus dwell and be fulfilled in every aspect of your safe dwelling.

Blood of Jesus – finally ask Jesus to cover and cleanse your canopy of protection with His shed blood.

In following these simple steps of speaking God’s written Word you will cause God’s hand, provision, and protection to come upon you establishing a safe dwelling place and an open heaven for you and your family full of favor and peace.
